To answer your question Bishop Mitlon Hollins (my hubby) wrote the original I Don't Know What You ComeTo Exercise in 1965. He and I were the original Biblical Gospel Singers on Peackock Songbird recording characterization. We were the original singers/songwriters and I played and arranged the music on All of the songs. The group consisted of my brother in law (Charlie Simmons) Robert Brown, my husband Milton Hollins and myself. Later my sis Mary Frances joined the grouping. The group divide afterwards the hit song sold over 1million copies. My brother in police took the name Bilblicals and formed a different grouping and re-recorded the song on MCA. My hubby and I formed a dissimilar group named The Helen Hollins Singers, we also recorded the vocal. Since that time anybody from Tony ToniTone (House Party II), BeBe Winans, The Walls Group and so many others take recorded the vocal. In that location are derivative versions of the song recorded by Tye Tribbett, Demetria Haddon
and more.
Most people do not realize that there is a verse to the song before the hook considering everyone remembers the hook and vamp.The original music and lyrics tin be found under Morton Morris sheet music titled I Come To Praise Him words and music by G.Hollins.
